Short Science Fiction Collection Vol. 4 is a captivating anthology that showcases the incredible talent of various authors in the science fiction genre. Each story offers a unique and thought-provoking look at the future, exploring themes such as technology, ethics, and the resilience of the human spirit.

One of the standout stories in this collection is "The Last Question" by Isaac Asimov, which delves into the concept of the heat death of the universe and the possibility of creating a computer capable of answering the titular question. Asimov's writing is both engaging and mind-bending, leaving readers pondering the complexities of existence long after the story ends.

Another standout piece is "The Machine Stops" by E.M. Forster, which paints a haunting picture of a future society where people live in isolation, completely reliant on a vast machine for their every need. As the machine begins to malfunction, the protagonist must come to terms with the consequences of their society's reliance on technology.

Overall, Short Science Fiction Collection Vol. 4 is a must-read for fans of the genre. The diverse range of stories included in this anthology offers something for everyone, from hard science fiction enthusiasts to those who enjoy more philosophical explorations of the human condition. Each author brings their own unique voice and perspective to the table, creating a rich tapestry of storytelling that will leave readers wanting more.

Reviews (Rated: 3 Stars - 1 review)

Subject: Short science fiction #4
The stories are mostly good ones. Selection #7 (Sodom & Gomorrah, Texas) volume is too low for me to hear. Selection #8 is narrated by RJ Davis. This narrator is horrible. See my review of Andre Norton's "time Traders" to get a more detailed reason. All in all, not a bad way to pass a few hours behind the wheel.
