This is a lovely book that takes you into the life a girl in 1630 as she experiences the harsh times she lives in. Written as a journal you are taken through a series of events and learn about the settlement and how she works in the home. You are taken on a journey that makes you feel you are there seeing and learning how to make things like soap, thread from flax and much more. A most enjoyable book that would be good for both child and adult to listen to or read.
