He painted a picture of a time and a race of people that I might not know, otherwise. Although I am not Black, I enjoyed learning more about the struggles of others for freedom and equality, even though, perhaps, not yet fully attained. Particularly touching to me was the chapter that described the birth and death of the author's son.

I enjoyed listening to this audio book. The reader was excellent. The author was a man of intellect. He painted a picture of a time and a race of people that I might not know, otherwise.
