Make friends fast. -- Handbook For The Shipwrecked To Nan Gerding FOR TWO YEARS Alan Green had lived without hope. From the day the spaceship had crashed on this unknown planet he had resigned himself to the destiny created for him by accident and mathematics. Chances against another ship landing within the next hundred years were a million to one. Therefore it would do no good to sit around waiting for rescue. Much as he loathed the idea, he must live the rest of his life here, and he must squeeze as much blood as he could out of this planet-sized turnip. There wasn't much to squeeze. Just do a search on "Mark Nelson" and download everything he's recorded. He's miles and away the best volunteer reader of free audio books I've ever heard.

Subject: Good story!
Imagine earning a living as a professional 'consort' to the queen. Okay, not much of a living, since the hero is really more of a slave, but she does provide for him and his many children... oh and his wife as well! Yikes what a triangle! Now, when he has given up hope of going home, he might have a chance... but what to do with his family? Neat story, and Mark Nelson does a great job as always.
