By: (1859-1931)

I recently finished reading Young Folks' History of the American Revolution by Everett T. Tomlinson, and I found it to be a fascinating and informative read. The author does a fantastic job of breaking down complex historical events and presenting them in a way that is engaging and easy to understand for young readers.

Tomlinson's writing style is clear and engaging, making it easy for readers of all ages to follow along with the story of the American Revolution. The book covers all the major events of the revolution, from the Boston Tea Party to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, providing a comprehensive overview of this crucial period in American history.

One aspect of the book that I particularly appreciated was the inclusion of primary source documents and quotes from key figures of the revolution. These firsthand accounts help to bring the history to life and give readers a deeper understanding of the thoughts and motivations of those involved in the conflict.

Overall, I highly recommend Young Folks' History of the American Revolution to anyone looking to learn more about this pivotal moment in American history. Whether you are a young reader or simply interested in brushing up on your knowledge of the revolution, this book is a great resource that is both educational and enjoyable to read.

Book Description:
This work has grown out of the desire frequently expressed to the writer when he has been lecturing on the American Revolution, that in some way the experiences of the people as well as the deeds of the armies in that trying period might be presented to the present generation. The author has given to the public this narrative, in which the course of the armies in the various campaigns is followed and, at the same time, many of the forgotten or ignored experiences and deeds of the common people are also incorporated.
